Enable 5G coverage by 2026

Our goal is to make 5G connectivity available to at least 85 % of the population by 2026 across Bulgaria.

Resilient and reliable network

We aim to further improve network reliability and quality of the national critical infrastructures in the country always actively help national authorities in case of natural disaster. We will further strengthen the protection of customer data and increase the resilience of our networks to cyberattack and cyberfraud.

Progress highlights

Enable 5G coverage by 2026

By the end of 2024, 5G connectivity will be available to 80 % of the population.

Resilient and reliable network

In 2022, we implemented the first phase of a full-scope Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system and began continuous cybersecurity training for all external contractors to enhance awareness. In 2023, we established an internal Security Operation Centre (SOC), complete with comprehensive procedures for monitoring and incident response. In 2024, we further strengthened our security infrastructure by integrating an Extended Detection and Response (XDR) system. This addition has provided significant benefits, including enhanced threat detection across multiple endpoints, streamlined incident response processes, and better correlation of data from various sources for a more comprehensive view of potential security threats.

Telecommunications: accelerated growth after the pandemic
The year 2022 passed under the sign of rising inflation and increased prices of energy sources, raw materials, and services. How have you fared in this dynamic environment? In 2022, the entire business both in Bulgaria and globally was faced with many challenges, risks, and uncertainties. The telecommunications industry, and CETIN in particular, has not been spared the impact of what is happening around us and the complex economic environment. This has translated into extreme price increases and unpredictable movements in the cost of electricity, severe bottlenecks in supply chains, and inflationary pressures on the prices of materials and services.
